Meet Sara…
From the Boardroom to the Yoga Mat to the Meditation Cushion
Sara Cain-da Costa is a people-centered executive, yoga and meditation educator, behavioral healthcare leader, and lifelong advocate for mental health and well-being.
Her distinctive career spans more than 25 years in yoga and wellness and more than 18 years in human resources, business, entrepreneurship, and organizational leadership. She has served as a human resources executive and strategic advisor, led yoga and mindfulness programming within behavioral healthcare, built corporate wellness programs, owned yoga studios in both North Carolina and South Carolina, and trained the next generation of yoga teachers and wellness leaders.
Sara’s experience gives her an uncommon ability to move between worlds. She understands the strategy and responsibility of the boardroom, the connection and courage cultivated on the yoga mat, and the clarity discovered on the meditation cushion.
Throughout her career, she has helped individuals, leaders, and organizations navigate change, strengthen culture, develop resilience, and create environments where people feel supported and able to thrive. Her leadership work encompasses employee experience, organizational development, talent strategy, coaching, compliance, wellness programming, and the development of values-driven workplace cultures.
At the same time, Sara has remained deeply rooted in yoga, mindfulness, and mental health advocacy. She began practicing yoga in 1998, and the practice became an important source of steadiness, healing, and reconnection through her own mental health challenges, a breast cancer diagnosis, and her family’s experience with severe mental illness.
These experiences shaped her belief that well-being is not separate from leadership, work, or everyday life. It is foundational to how we communicate, make decisions, build relationships, and care for ourselves and others.
As the Founder and Lead Instructor of Sea & Soul Yoga School, Sara brings her entire background into the learning experience—bridging ancient yoga wisdom with modern science, mindfulness, nervous-system awareness, trauma-informed practices, behavioral health, and leadership principles.
Her approach goes far beyond teaching poses and sequences. Sea & Soul develops teachers who understand how to communicate, connect, adapt, lead, and create inclusive, meaningful yoga experiences for real people and real life.
Whether she is advising senior leaders, developing workplace culture, training yoga teachers, guiding mindful movement, or holding space for meditation, Sara’s purpose remains the same:
To help people lead with greater awareness, live with greater intention, and create meaningful change from the inside out.
